WIP circles
Here’s an old idea to make new again: Manuscript workshops.
A common component of creative writing classes, in a manuscript workshop all participants come to the table having read the work and prepared comments. An experienced writer/facilitator leads the discussion.
WIP circles offer an online/face-to-face version of these workshops. The facilitator ensures quality and safety. They encourage each individual to probe deeper. “I liked it,” leads to “What I really loved is how you… developed a character; dramatized the dynamics; painted a compelling picture.”
